Gomeroi Education and Training

About Us

Established in 2018, Gomeroi Education and Training (GET) is a proudly Aboriginal owned and operated Registered Training Organisation.

As a provider of accredited Vocational Education and Training in Australia, studying at Gomeroi Education and Training is a unique opportunity as we focus on providing ‘Cultural knowledge within a cultural framework’

Our courses have been developed to address the challenge of accessing Aboriginal cultural knowledge in a mainstream setting. We aim to equip Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with the necessary tools to address this obstacle.

Gomeroi Education and Training also offer Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training for organisations that seek skills and knowledge in this area.

Acknowledgement of Country

Gomeroi Education and Training (GET) acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Country throughout Australia.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging; we acknowledge their strength, wisdom and desire to create a stronger future for generations to follow.

We honour and respect the cultural heritage, customs and beliefs of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our Programs

Certificate III in Aboriginal Sites Work

The qualification enables individuals to operate under recognised, appropriate cultural supervision to undertake work associated with inspecting, documenting and maintaining Aboriginal cultural and heritage sites.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, although it is recommended that participants undertaking this qualification seek the endorsement of their local Aboriginal Community and local Aboriginal leadership when enrolling in this qualification.

Barranggirra

In partnership, Gomeroi Education and Training (GET) and Gomeroi Dance Company (GDC) mentors are here to assist apprentices, trainees and school-based trainees on their journey to completing their qualification/s and training. This is done by offering a culturally appropriate holistic approach, offering guidance and support.

Once learners have completed their qualifications, mentors can support learners to seek out employment and career opportunities by linking the learners’ skills, knowledge, and qualifications with relevant industries.

Walan Garay

This is a unique experience that is conducted in a 4-hour workshop. Participants take part in unique, engaging exchanges that will enrich their understanding of Aboriginal culture, and ultimately improve the way they work with Aboriginal communities.

Our workshop format creates meaningful experiences for participants to strengthen their capacity to understand the diversity and complexities of Aboriginal communities.
